Business Development Manager

The Opportunity
Access eHealth is looking for a Business Development Manager. Reporting to the CEO/Founder, this position is the key business development role. The Business Development Manager primary responsibility is to identify, document and secure new sales opportunities for Access eHealth. This includes new opportunities in existing and new market segments and jurisdictions, through a variety of business development activities and building key customer relationships within the Canadian health care industry. This position is responsible for the end-to-end sales cycle, growing the revenues and customer base and as such, it is a critical role in expanding the client’s share of the market. This individual must be a results oriented self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision and possesses strong analytical and decision-making skills.
This role prospects for new clients, retains business by cold calling within a defined market or geographic area to ensure continual opportunities for business growth and customer acquisition. The incumbent responsibility is to increase sales opportunities and maximize results and as the company grows, manage existing clients to ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
The incumbent works closely with marketing to convert warm leads- leads from current customers, consistent networking within the health community, relationship building, identifies opportunities and presents solutions. The BDM demonstrates the client’s products, in person and remotely, attends company and business conferences, follows up on sales leads, and maintains on-going relationships with clients to facilitate referral sales leads. The Business Development Manager role is well suited to an experienced sales go-getter who greatly enjoys ‘closing the deal’.

Minimum Qualifications
- 2-4 years relevant outside sales work experience with proven business development and/or sales and marketing lead
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Education, and Computer Science and/or Clinical Business-related discipline preferred
- A combination of experience and education may be considered
- A clear understanding of digital health for behavioral health and chronic disease management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to translate complex information to a variety of audiences in a simple and straightforward manner
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities within a growing start-up environment
- Effective time management and prioritizing abilities
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution and people management skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture strong networks to further business objectives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with selling Electronic Medical Record (EMR)/Electronic Health Record (EHR) or other clinical solutions for the behavioral health market
- Experience in using a CRM and Account-Based Marketing (ABM) methodology
- Broad business acumen with sound knowledge and understanding of the health industry
- Ability to advise and coach leadership and other team members on market sales
- Team player who can respond to the diverse needs of multiple stakeholders and be an assertive leader when prioritization is required
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Positive attitude rooted in company core values
Position Requirements
- Manual dexterity required to use computer and peripherals
- Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Ability and willingness to travel 35 - 50% of the time. Travel is part of this position to prospect companies and medical facilities for meetings or training, which may involve some overnight stays away from home
- Ability to attend company meetings with CEO/Founder to build rapport with industry leaders and conduct presentations
- Ability to work under strict deadlines, overtime or on assignments as required
